The photo depicting
the injuriessustained by a woman
during the “Woman, Life, Freedom”
protest in Iran served as
a profound source of inspiration
for initiating this project.

As I delved deeply into Processing software, I familiarized myself with its fundamental components and completed several exercises before beginning an artistic project titled ‘Wounds.’ The project aimed to explore my reaction to Iran’s heart-wrenching events and protests. Politics is typically not a central theme in my designs. However, the tragic events of the protests, which led to the loss of many young lives, including children, compelled me to channel my emotions into this project.

The inspiration for ‘Wounds’ came from a haunting photograph showcasing the marks left by bullets. This led me to choose circles as a deliberate design choice in my work, symbolizing these grievous injuries.

Typography also plays an integral role in my work, encapsulatingthe cumulative impact of four decades of governance by the Iranianregime. Words like “execution,” “banned,” “arrested,” “expensive,”“embezzlement,” “mandatory,” and “imprisonment” are not justadjectives; they reflect the harsh realities that many have endured.Through ‘Wounds,’ I hope to shed light on these truths and give a voice to those who may no longer have one.
